Secure Woldingham

Woldingham Village – keeping us and our homes safe and secure

The Village enjoys an efficient and effective Police presence from Surrey Police via the Regional Headquarters in Caterham and in the person of the Village Police Community Support Officer (PCSO).

The Village PCSO, is full time in the Village only because the costs of the services are met, in part, by Village Residents through voluntary contributions to The Woldingham Security Fund, a local Charity established for the purpose, and in part by Surrey Police.

The PCSO carries the full compliment of Police communications equipment and is able to call speedily on all the resources of Surrey Police in the event of necessity.

A Police Surgery is held every Tuesday morning (10am – 11am) in the Woldingham Village Stores on The Crescent to deal with community and security matters and every alternate month the PCSO attends a Police Community Forum in the Village Hall.

The PCSO patrols throughout the Village and works closely with Village Residents and Businesses and also with the Neighbourhood Watch (NHW) Team.

The Woldingham Neighbourhood Watch was set up in 2004 on the initiative of The Woldingham Association and in conjunction with the Parish Council. The objective was to ensure that every householder could be a member.

The relevant information is circulated to each of the volunteer road co-ordinators by e-mail, which is then forwarded to each member by e-mail or by printed hard copy. The information contains details of any criminal activity within the Village and also any relevant security tips.

The information is gathered from a number of sources principally the PCSO and Surrey Police and other bodies including The Countryside Alliance and The Trading Standards Office. Members are also encouraged to report to the Police anything about which they are suspicious.

At the entry points to the Village are large NHW signs and some residents have affixed smaller signs to their entrance gates.
